This is the Navigation Classroom as completed on the 03
deck aft. At the top right section of the picture, you can see
one of the new radius windows installed. Two were installed in
each room. Windows are heavy duty, steel weld-in, marine rated
from Beclawat Industries, and were welded inside and out with
proper radius. Bulkhead panels were all mineral wool insulated
with 2” fire rated insulation and painted as needed with a
fire retardant paint, with framing getting 1” thick
insulation. Between the bookshelves is the A/C Supply duct,
also insulated. All decking was selected by the Chief Mate and
installed by a Lightship subcontractor.
